Dodging Cancer

We’re not just throwing balls because we want to,we’re dodging for a cause.

Dodge for a Cure is a not-for-profit charity dodgeball tournament. Its intentions are two-fold:

  • Raise money for the Newfoundland and Labrador Division of the Canadian Cancer Society, and;
  • Promote awareness of recognized cancer prevention strategies, or in other words, ways that you can dodge cancer.

Based on 2007 estimates, 1 out of 4 Canadians is expected to die from cancer.

In 2013, an estimated 1,500 people will die of cancer in the province.

Did You Know?

This year, an estimated 3,300 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the province.

On average, over 500 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer every day.
